Webinar Recording – Rights and Realities: Protecting Human Rights Defenders in the Context of Security

Following the launch of two important resources on strengthening the protection of human rights defenders – “Guidance on Respecting the Rights of Human Rights Defenders” by Bennett Freeman Associates LLC, and the report “Understanding the Unique Situation of Human Rights Defenders in Africa” by NGO LITE-Africa – the VPI hosted a public webinar where the authors of the publications presented their key findings and highlights. The webinar also had an active discussion session where invited discussants shared their views on the publications and how organizations could better protect human rights defenders.
