Request for Proposals – Baseline Assessment in Brazil

The VPI issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the development of a baseline study in Brazil.
The objective of the study is to enhance the capacity of the members of the Brazil multi-stakeholder In-Country Working Group (ICWG) to accurately understand and predict human rights risks, and understand existing impacts related to the provision of security in mining and energy sectors in different regions of Brazil.
The study will offer necessary analysis and recommendations to inform the Brazil ICWG’s future strategy and work plans on Security and Human Rights.
To be able to participate in the process, bidders need to be a resident of Brazil (with residence in Brazil during the time of the consultancy); have a degree in International Relations, Political Science, Law, or another relevant field; have a minimum of seven years of experience in developing research and publications on human rights issues and/or security-related issues; and be fluent in Portuguese and English. Working experience and knowledge of the extractives sector and its governance in Brazil is highly desirable.
The deadline to submit proposals is Thursday, September 26, 2024. Questions related to this RFP will be accepted until Monday, September 9.
