New Tool on Operationalizing the VPs Through the Lens of Protecting the Rights of Women and Other Disadvantaged Groups
The IGT Companion Tool equips organizations with important concepts and steps to better identify and respond to risks and impacts that security operations may have on women and other disadvantaged groups, along with practical tools, case studies, examples and additional resources.
Application Window for VPI Membership is Open Until September 15, 2023
The Voluntary Principles Initiative (VPI) is currently receiving new Membership applications. Organizations interested in becoming a VPI Member need to submit their applications in writing by September 15, 2023.
VPI Welcomes the Democratic Republic of the Congo as an Engaged Member
A provisional vote in favour of engaged membership took place in December 2022, which was ratified at the VPI Annual Plenary, held May 23-26, 2023, in London, United Kingdom. The DRC is the second African country – and the first from Central Africa – to apply for VPI Membership, following Ghana.
2023 Annual Plenary Meeting of the Voluntary Principles Initiative
The 2023 edition of the Annual Plenary Meeting of the Voluntary Principles Initiative (VPI) took place from May 23 to 26, 2023, in London, United Kingdom. Close to 150 people registered for one of more days of the event, making it the largest plenary held by the VPI.
2022 Annual Reports Are Now Available
The submission of an Annual Report is one of the core membership expectations as per the Governance Rules of the Voluntary Principles Initiative. All Full Members of the VPI are required to report annually on their efforts to implement the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights. The 2022 Annual Reports from our Members are now available for view.
Position Available: Grants Manager/ Programme Manager
REVISED - We are looking for a self-starting Grants Manager/ Programme Manager to join our small team and manage a small number of grants in different regions of the globe focused on strengthening on-the-ground practices that help reduce human rights violations in business operations.
